TIH
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003845
The operation of lowering a drill string, casing, or a wireline tool assembly into the wellbore. Tripping In Hole (TIH) is the counterpart to tripping out of the hole (TOOH), and together they constitute a round trip. The speed of this operation is carefully controlled to manage downhole pressure surges and avoid damaging the wellbore or the equipment, with trip time being a key metric in daily drilling reports.
