DMO
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004291
An acronym for Dip Moveout, a seismic data processing technique that corrects for the smearing effect of dipping reflectors in common midpoint (CMP) gathers. DMO transforms dipping reflections to their true subsurface positions before stacking, improving the accuracy of velocity analysis and imaging. It is applied after normal moveout (NMO) correction and before stacking.
