Time migration
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003848
A seismic data processing technique that repositions dipping reflectors to their true subsurface locations based on their travel times. This process collapses diffraction hyperbolas and moves dipping events to their correct spatial positions, improving the accuracy of the subsurface image. Time migration is performed using a velocity model derived from stacking velocities.
