Time domain

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003847

The representation of a signal's amplitude as a function of time, as opposed to its frequency components. In geophysics, seismic traces are recorded and processed in the time domain, showing the arrival times of seismic waves. Many geophysical methods, such as transient electromagnetics, also operate by measuring responses over time.
