Depth migration
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001016
A seismic imaging technique that repositions reflected seismic energy to its true subsurface location in depth, correcting for complex velocity variations. This process uses a detailed velocity model to accurately image steeply dipping reflectors and complex geological structures. It produces a seismic image in depth rather than in time.
