Terrain correction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004469
An adjustment applied to gravity or magnetic survey data to account for the gravitational or magnetic effects of topographic variations in the Earth's surface. This correction removes anomalies caused by hills and valleys, allowing for more accurate interpretation of subsurface geological structures. It is calculated based on the density of the terrain and the elevation differences.
