Relating to or originating from land environments, as opposed to marine or aquatic settings. Terrestrial sediments include fluvial, lacustrine, and eolian deposits, which can form reservoir rocks or, if rich in organic matter, source rocks for coal and some types of oil and gas. Examples include deltaic and floodplain deposits.
