Eolian
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004314
Describing geological processes, sediments, or landforms associated with the action of wind. Eolian transport sorts sediments by size, creating well-sorted deposits of sand and silt, such as sand dunes. In petroleum geology, ancient eolian sandstones, like the Rotliegend in the North Sea, form high-quality reservoirs due to their typically high porosity and permeability.
