Aeolian
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000066
Relating to geological processes driven by wind, including the erosion, transport, and deposition of sediment. These processes form large-scale features like sand seas (ergs) and dunes, creating sedimentary rocks with distinct characteristics. Aeolian sandstones are often well-sorted, have high porosity, and exhibit large-scale cross-bedding, which can form excellent hydrocarbon reservoirs.
