Injectite
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001996
A sedimentary intrusion formed when fluidized sediment, such as sand or mud, is forcibly injected into overlying or adjacent strata. This occurs due to overpressure, seismic activity, or rapid deposition, creating dikes, sills, or irregular bodies. Injectites can form hydrocarbon reservoirs or act as seals, influencing fluid migration pathways.
