Injectivity test

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004363

A procedure to determine the rate and pressure at which fluids can be pumped into a target formation without fracturing it. The test involves injecting a fluid, such as water or gas, into a well at a constant or stepped rate while monitoring the corresponding bottomhole pressure. Data from the test are analyzed to calculate the formation's permeability and to assess the condition of the wellbore, providing parameters for designing waterflood or disposal projects.
