Erosion

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001324

The geological process by which surface material, such as rock or soil, is worn away and transported by natural agents like water, wind, or glaciers. This continuous process shapes the Earth's surface and contributes to the deposition of sediments that can later form hydrocarbon reservoirs. Erosion rates are measured in units of mass per unit area per unit time.
