Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001041

Describing rock fragments or mineral grains that have been derived from the physical disintegration of pre-existing rocks and transported by natural agents like water, wind, or ice. These particles are then deposited to form sedimentary rocks such as sandstones and shales. Detrital sediments are a primary component of clastic reservoir rocks in hydrocarbon systems.
