Fence diagram
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001384
A three-dimensional geologic illustration that connects multiple two-dimensional cross-sections or stratigraphic columns, resembling a series of intersecting fences. It shows the spatial relationships and correlations of rock layers, faults, and depositional environments across an area. Geologists construct these diagrams from well log data, core descriptions, and seismic interpretations to visualize subsurface architecture and predict reservoir distribution between boreholes.
