Fishing bell

A type of fishing tool, also known as a die collar or tapered tap, run into a wellbore to retrieve lost or stuck equipment, collectively known as a fish. It has an internally threaded, hardened steel surface that cuts into the top of the fish, allowing it to be gripped securely for retrieval to the surface. The tool is tapered to guide it over the top of the lost equipment.
