Taper tap

A fishing tool with a tapered, threaded profile designed to engage and retrieve lost or stuck tubulars from a wellbore. The tap is rotated into the internal diameter of the fish, cutting threads into its wall to establish a secure connection. This tool is used when the lost item has an open internal bore suitable for threading.
