Overshot

A fishing tool used in well intervention to retrieve lost or stuck equipment from the wellbore. It consists of a cylindrical body with internal slips or grapples that latch onto the exterior of the lost object. The overshot is run on a drill string or wireline and then engaged with the fish to pull it out of the hole.
