Tapered cutoff
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003768
A method used in petrophysical analysis to define a gradual transition zone for a property, rather than a sharp boundary. For example, a tapered cutoff for shale volume might assign a decreasing hydrocarbon saturation as shale content increases. This approach provides a more realistic representation of reservoir heterogeneity than a simple binary cutoff.
