Flow loop

A laboratory or field test facility designed to simulate wellbore conditions and study fluid flow behavior under controlled parameters. It consists of pipes, pumps, and measurement devices to circulate and analyze multiphase fluid mixtures. Flow loops are used to calibrate downhole logging tools and develop new flow measurement techniques.
