Human-in-the-loop (HITL)
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001876
A system design that integrates human interaction into a machine learning cycle, where people review, validate, or correct the model's outputs. The human-in-the-loop (HITL) process uses this expert feedback to continuously retrain and refine the AI model's performance over time. This approach is applied in tasks requiring high accuracy and expert judgment, such as seismic fault interpretation or non-destructive testing analysis, as opposed to fully automated processes.
