Gas formation volume factor
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001619
The ratio of the volume of natural gas at reservoir conditions to its volume at standard surface conditions. This factor accounts for the expansion of gas as it moves from high-pressure reservoir conditions to lower-pressure surface conditions. It is expressed in cubic feet per standard cubic foot (ft^3/scf) or cubic meters per standard cubic meter (m^3/Sm^3).
