Water formation volume factor
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004094
The ratio of the volume of water at reservoir conditions to its volume at standard surface conditions. This factor accounts for the expansion or contraction of water due to changes in pressure and temperature from the reservoir to the surface. It is a dimensionless quantity, typically slightly greater than 1.0, and is used in reservoir engineering calculations.
