Water gun
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004095
A marine seismic energy source that generates an acoustic pulse by rapidly injecting high-pressure water into the surrounding seawater. The sudden collapse of the resulting water cavity produces a broadband seismic signal. Water guns are often used in shallow water environments or for high-resolution surveys due to their good repeatability and relatively clean signature compared to air guns.
