Skin factor

A dimensionless parameter that quantifies the additional pressure drop near the wellbore due to damage or stimulation. A positive skin factor indicates damage, such as formation plugging, while a negative skin factor suggests stimulation, like acidizing or fracturing. This factor is determined from well test analysis and influences well productivity.
