Wellbore damage

A reduction in the permeability of the reservoir rock immediately surrounding the wellbore, hindering fluid flow into the well. This condition results from drilling, completion, or workover operations that introduce foreign materials or alter rock properties. It is quantified by a skin factor, where a positive value indicates damage.
