Formation damage

A reduction in the natural permeability of a reservoir rock caused by drilling, completion, or workover operations. This damage can result from solid particles plugging pore throats, fluid invasion altering rock properties, or chemical reactions. It often leads to decreased hydrocarbon production and requires remedial treatments.
