Slaked lime

Calcium hydroxide, a white powdery substance produced by adding water to quicklime (calcium oxide). It is used in drilling fluids to increase pH, treat out bicarbonate contamination, and as a component in some lime-based mud systems. Slaked lime is also known as hydrated lime and has the chemical formula Ca(OH)2.
