Quick lime

Calcium oxide (CaO), a highly reactive compound used in drilling fluids, particularly in lime-based muds or for pH adjustment. It reacts exothermically with water to form calcium hydroxide, which can increase the pH and provide a source of calcium ions. Quick lime is also used in some waste treatment processes.
