Quebracho
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003022
A natural tannin extract derived from the wood of the quebracho tree, used as a deflocculant and thinner in water-based drilling fluids. It reduces the viscosity and gel strength of muds by dispersing clay particles. This organic additive is particularly effective in high-pH, high-temperature environments.
