Chrome lignosulfonate
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000666
A complex organic polymer derived from lignin and treated with chromium, widely used as a deflocculant and rheology modifier in water-based drilling fluids. It reduces the yield point and gel strength of drilling mud, preventing flocculation of clay solids. This additive is particularly effective in high-temperature, high-salinity environments, maintaining stable fluid properties during drilling operations.
