Group interval
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001761
The physical distance between the centers of adjacent receiver groups in a seismic survey spread. This spacing is a key acquisition parameter that influences the spatial sampling of the seismic wavefield and the ability to resolve subsurface features. A typical group interval for a land 3D seismic survey might be 25 or 50 meters, depending on the survey's objectives and target depth.
