Hierarchical cluster analysis
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001820
A statistical method that builds a hierarchy of clusters by iteratively merging or splitting groups of data points based on their similarity. It produces a dendrogram, a tree-like diagram that illustrates the arrangement of the clusters. This analysis is used in reservoir characterization to identify natural groupings of well logs or core samples based on petrophysical properties.
