Cluster analysis
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000712
A statistical technique used to group a set of objects in such a way that objects in the same group, or cluster, are more similar to each other than to those in other groups. In reservoir studies, this method identifies natural groupings within petrophysical logs, core data, or seismic attributes. The resulting clusters can delineate distinct rock types or flow units within a reservoir.
