Completion quality (CQ)
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000781
A measure of how readily a formation interval accepts an effective hydraulic fracture, based on rock mechanical properties such as brittleness, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio and minimum horizontal stress. It is paired with reservoir quality, which describes the hydrocarbon storage and flow properties, when ranking intervals in horizontal shale wells. Stage boundaries and perforation clusters are placed so each cluster sits in rock of similar completion quality.
