Flow unit
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001487
A volume of reservoir rock with petrophysical and geological properties that are internally consistent and different from those of surrounding rock volumes. These properties, primarily permeability and porosity, create a distinct pathway for fluid movement. Flow units are identified and correlated between wells using core data, log analysis, and pressure measurements, often defined by a specific range of the reservoir quality index (RQI) or flow zone indicator (FZI).
