Horizon slice

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001852

A 2D map displaying a seismic attribute extracted along a single interpreted horizon within a 3D seismic volume. Unlike a time slice, which is a horizontal cut, a horizon slice follows the topography of a specific geological surface, such as the top of a reservoir sand. This display reveals spatial variations in amplitude, frequency, or other attributes across the surface, which can indicate changes in lithology, fluid content, or thickness.
