Mud-in sample

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002468

A representative sample of drilling fluid collected from the suction pit before it is pumped down the drillstring. This sample represents the conditioned mud being sent into the wellbore for circulation. Comparing its properties to those of the mud-out sample, taken at the shale shakers, reveals changes that occurred downhole, such as solids loading or contamination.
