Partial completion

A well completion technique where only a portion of the productive reservoir interval is perforated or open to flow. This method is employed to control fluid entry, mitigate water or gas coning, or manage production from heterogeneous reservoirs. It can be achieved by selectively perforating or by setting packers to isolate specific zones.
