Barefoot completion

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000273

A well completion method in which the production casing is set just above the reservoir, leaving the productive interval open to the wellbore without any liner or perforations. This design is suited for hard, competent rock formations like some carbonates or sandstones that are not prone to collapsing or producing sand. In contrast, an openhole gravel pack completion is used for similar wells in less consolidated formations.
