Openhole completion

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002627

A well completion method where the production casing is set above the reservoir interval, leaving the producing formation exposed and uncased. This allows direct contact between the reservoir rock and the wellbore, maximizing inflow area and minimizing formation damage from cement. Openhole completions are often used in competent, consolidated formations or in conjunction with gravel packs.
