Stock tank barrel

A standard unit of volume used in the oil industry to measure crude oil or condensate at standard conditions of 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15.6 degrees Celsius) and atmospheric pressure. This unit accounts for the shrinkage that occurs when oil is brought from reservoir conditions to surface conditions. One stock tank barrel is equivalent to 42 US gallons.
