Total depth (TD)

The maximum depth reached in a wellbore, measured from the surface to the bottom of the hole. This depth can be measured either as true vertical depth (TVD) or measured depth (MD) along the well path. Reaching total depth signifies the completion of the drilling phase for a particular well section or the entire well.
