A Very Large Crude Carrier, a type of supertanker designed for the long-distance transport of crude oil, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) ranging from 180,000 to 320,000 metric tons. These vessels are a primary means of global crude oil transportation. A typical VLCC can carry about 2 million barrels of oil.
