Relating to or originating from a volcano or volcanic activity, including the eruption of molten rock, ash, and gases. Volcanic processes create igneous rocks and landforms both on the Earth's surface and beneath it. Volcanic rocks can form reservoirs for hydrocarbons, particularly fractured basalts or tuffs.
