Wireline cutter

A specialized tool deployed on a wireline to sever a stuck wireline or slickline downhole, allowing for recovery of the upper portion of the line. It uses a pyrotechnic charge or a mechanical shearing action to cut the wire. This tool is used as a last resort to retrieve the surface equipment when the line cannot be pulled free.
