High volume manufacturing
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000162
The large-scale production of semiconductor devices after a manufacturing process has been fully developed, qualified, and stabilized. High volume manufacturing (HVM) focuses on maximizing throughput, maintaining high yields, and reducing per-unit costs through economies of scale and continuous process control. A process enters HVM only after demonstrating consistent performance and reliability targets during pilot production phases.
