Net zero
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000228
A state achieved when the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere is balanced by the amount removed, resulting in no net increase in atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. For semiconductor companies, achieving net zero typically involves reducing direct emissions as much as possible and offsetting any remaining emissions through carbon removal projects. Many corporations have set targets to reach net zero emissions by a specific year.
