Net-zero

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003882

A state achieved when the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere is balanced by the amount removed, resulting in no net increase in atmospheric concentrations. This balance is typically achieved through a combination of reducing emissions from energy consumption and industrial processes, alongside carbon removal technologies or natural carbon sinks. Achieving net-zero emissions is a global target for mitigating climate change.
