A numerical system that uses only two symbols, 0 and 1, to represent data. In additive manufacturing, binary code is used to store and transmit instructions for machine operation, such as tool paths and laser activation. Digital light processing (DLP) 3D printers use binary images to control the curing of photopolymer resin.
