Build space

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000435

The three-dimensional volume within an additive manufacturing machine where a part can be fabricated. It defines the maximum possible dimensions (X, Y, and Z) of an object that the printer can produce in a single operation. The size of the build space is a primary specification for any 3D printer, ranging from a few cubic centimeters for desktop resin printers to several cubic meters for large-scale industrial systems.
